Our differentiator is our unique approach to client service. We take a very consultative approach to our clients needs, realizing that many of them don’t know what they don’t know. They don’t always know what questions to ask, so we ask those questions of them. Our staf is extremely nurturing and often gets very involved in our clients businesses, when approprirate.

Our typicaly client profile is broken down as follows:

1. Start-up, venture backed or pre-venture companies. These clients typically either choose our complete oursourcing, or part-time Controller/CFO services. Most of these clients also utilize our tax planning and preparation services.

2. Small-Medium sized businesses, often CEO or family owned, have been in business for a number of years. These clients typically choose our part-time Controller/CFO services, which enables them to have their staff perform daily functions, and have our staff perform the higher level functions on a weekly/monthly basis. Most of these clients also utilize our tax planning and preparation services.

3. Small business or sole professionals. These clients typically choose our bookkeeping services, combined with tax planning and preparation.

4. Tax resolution clients are either companies or individuals who owe the government money and cannot pay the balance due all at one time. We assist them with making payment arrangements or offers in compromise.

5. Companies who want to purchase and or need assistance in setting up and implementing Quickbooks Pro or Quickbooks Enterprise.

6. Software needs analysis clients are companies who have outgrown their current solution, whether it be Quickbooks or some other legacy software product, and engage us to assist them with evaluating their needs and making recommendations on new solutions that will suit their needs within their budget. We can also assist with the coordination of and participation in the demos as well as the final software selection.

Bio:

Jo Barsa is the CEO of Barsa & Company, serving as a source of strategic leadership in the accounting software field for over 22 years. In 1987, Jo started her own accounting consulting firm, Barsa & Associates (now Barsa & Company). During the early stages of the company, Jo got involved in her first software implementation and realized the potential opportunities to help her clients by combining her accounting expertise with her ability to implement computerized accounting software systems. In 2001, she spun off the software division of the accounting firm to form Barsa Technology Solutions, Inc. Jo’s vision was to offer businesses her accounting expertise coupled with a team of highly trained software experts to deliver value-add business solutions.

After completing a merger of Barsa Technology Solutions in 2008, Jo left that company to focus on the growth of Barsa & Company. The firm’s primary focus now is to provide outsourced accounting, part-time Controller, and general accounting and bookkeeping services, as well as and tax planning and preparation and tax resolution services. Jo also assists companies in evaluating their needs and selecting the appropriate financial software for their company. Jo’s years of experience as a CPA and business owner, as well as her extensive knowledge in business and accounting, gives her the experience necessary to effectively analyze a company’s business processes, with a focus both on the present and future needs and goals of our clients’ organizations. Because of this expertise, Jo frequently performs business process reviews and needs analysis projects, and assists clients in selecting the best financial software solutions to suit their needs.Jo’s commitment to the long term success of our clients’ businesses is demonstrated through her passion and desire to provide the exact solution that meets their needs and will yield enduring benefits to the organization. Prior to launching her companies, Jo worked in the audit department of the San Diego office of Ernst & Young, where she earned her CPA certification.
